The fourth of six men suspected in last year’s violent kidnapping and torture of a Sterling Heights man outside of a Macomb County gym has been charged in the case, according to prosecutors.

Romeo Osorio, 23,
was extradited from Florida to be charged with the attack. He was arraigned Friday on eight criminal counts for his alleged role in the incident and remains in the Macomb County Jail.
“The charges this man faces serves as a reminder that every decision we make carries weight, and the impact can be profound. Justice will be pursued diligently, ensuring accountability for those who choose to disregard the law and endanger the lives of others,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in a statement.

Shelby Township police have not publicly said yet what the connection between the 24-year-old victim and suspects is as the case is still under investigation but emphasized it wasn’t a random incident.

According to police and prosecutors, the incident began when the 24-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint by four armed and masked suspects outside of the Lifetime Fitness on Lakeside Boulevard north of Hall Road on Oct. 23, 2023. They restrained him in his own pickup truck and drove away.
The suspects allegedly tortured the victim, drove to his house, and entered the residence. Sterling Heights officers arrived at the victim’s home and encountered one of the suspects in the truck with the victim.

The abductor fled in the vehicle with the victim. Police chased after it before he crashed, took him into custody, and secured a loaded assault rifle that was in the truck. The others were able to escape, but several have since been arrested.
Osorio was arraigned in 41A Shelby Township District Court on charges of carjacking, armed robbery, torture, unlawful imprisonment, and four counts of conspiracy. Judge Douglas Shepherd set bond at $3 million, cash only.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 11.
Osorio is the fourth defendant to be charged in the incident. Angel Andujar-Ruiz, Angel Pantoja, and Renado Coleman have already been arraigned.

A fourth Florida man has been charged in connection with an abduction last year in Shelby Township, officials said last week.
Romeo Osorio, 23, was arraigned Friday in 41-A District Court in Shelby Township on multiple charges, including carjacking, conspiracy to commit carjacking, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, torture, unlawful imprisonment, conspiracy to commit unlawful imprisonment and conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion.
A judge set Osorio's bond at $3 million and scheduled his next court appearance for next Monday.
If convicted, he faces up to life for the first five charges, up to 15 years for unlawful imprisonment, up to life for conspiracy to commit unlawful imprisonment and up to 20 years for the home invasion charge.
Court records Monday did not list an attorney for Osorio.
Prosecutors said he is one of six men who allegedly kidnapped a 24-year-old man on Oct. 23 in Shelby Township. They have already charged three other Florida men — Angel Andujar-Ruiz, Angel Pantoja, and Renado Coleman — in connection with the abduction.
Andujar-Ruiz was charged on Oct. 25 and ordered held without bond. In January, a judge changed his bond to $3 million and scheduled his next court date for May 15.

Angel Pantoja was charged on Jan. 9 and is being held on a $3 million bond. His next court date is May 15.

His next court date is May 20.
Police said Osorio and five others were armed when they carjacked the victim in the parking lot of a gym, restrained him in his vehicle then drove away. They also allege the suspects tortured him and drove him to his home in Sterling Heights.
Osorio fled when Sterling Heights police officers arrived at the victim’s home, officials said.

Renado Coleman and five other suspects carjacked the victim
4 caught, 2 more are out there.
For 6 men to target & torture 1 man, there's a much bigger story not being told.
The 6 wanted to know something the victim knew, nothing in the house was stolen.

Shelby Township police have not publicly said yet what the connection between the 24-year-old victim and suspects is as the case is still under investigation but emphasized it wasn’t a random incident.
Drugs and/or weapons, money laundering, trafficking the usual things, including humans.
