Two 17-year-old students were stabbed during a vicious caught-on-video brawl inside a Queens public high school Thursday, police said.
One of the teenage boys was stabbed in the stomach and the other in the shoulder during the 1:30 p.m. clash in the stairwell of Martin Van Buren High School on Hillside Avenue near 231st Street in Queens Village, authorities said.
The suspected stabber, a 16-year-old boy, was taken into custody, police said. He was not immediately charged.
Cellphone video provided to The Post by a student at the school shows a group of teens brawling in the stairwell of the building, which does not have metal detectors, according to sources.
Many punches are thrown and at one point, a teen is repeatedly kicked in the head.
Toward the end of the clip, someone can be seen lying on the floor at the base of the stairs – though it’s not clear at what exact point the stabbings occurred.
Both of the victims were taken to Northwell Health, where they were listed in stable condition, cops said.
One of the victims had a gun in his possession, law enforcement sources said.
The NYPD “immediately responded” and the school was placed on a “brief soft lockdown” before students were dismissed, city Department of Education spokesperson Jenna Lyle said in a statement.
“The safety and well-being of our students is our absolute top priority,” Lyle said. “We will be providing additional emotional supports to any student who needs it.”
The violent attack happened between seventh and eighth period, the last of the day, students told WNBC.
“There’s fights then and there, but nothing like this, like where people are almost at risk of dying,” one student told the network.

In 2020, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the foot during a dispute roughly two blocks away from the school, police said then.
