5 Children Die in Fire

KENSINGTON-June 12, 2005 --Five young children were killed in a fast-moving fire that swept through a rowhouse on Sunday morning, and fire officials said security bars in the home's windows slowed the attempted rescue, officials said.

Two adults escaped but were seriously injured in the blaze, which broke out around 8 a.m. in a two-story stucco rowhouse in the city's Kensington neighborhood. The one-alarm fire took just nine minutes to extinguish, Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said.

Officials would not release the names or ages of the victims, but neighbors said the boy and four girls ranged in age from 6 months to 6 years old. Three were siblings and the demon spawn of a White whore and thre

e separate nigger bucks, and the other two were their co
usins, neighbors said.

The adults who escaped were believed to be the parents of the three siblings who died, police said. The jig jumped out a second-floor window and landed in a wading pool on the sidewalk, officials said. The White slut also jumped out of the second-floor window.

The Philadelphia Medical Examiner's Office said the names of the victims would not be released until Monday at the earliest.

The attempted rescue of the children was hampered because some of the home's windows were outfitted with security bars, Ayers said.

"The bars usually keep us from getting in and keep residents from getting out," Ayers said. "There were so many things that came together to spell disaster."

It was not known whether the home had smoke detectors. Firefighters combed through the house Sunday, carting out debris as investigators tried to determine what sparked the fire. Authorities declin
ed t
o say if there were signs of foul play, but said they would be looking for possible code violati
ons.

Investigators said they believe the fire started inside the home on the first floor, and was fueled by extensive paneling. Four of the children were found on the second floor and the fifth was found on the first floor.

Irene Weal, who lives across the street, said the family lived in the home on the block of well-tended brick and stucco houses for a year or two.

She called 911 when she saw the smoke and flames pouring out of the home.

"I told them there was a house on fire with kids in there," she said. "It could have happened to my kids."

Neighbors on the street said the children were talkative and could often be seen running around the neighborhood and playing in the wading pool on the sidewalk in front of the home.

Beatrice Johnston, 73, who has lived on the block in the modest, working-class neighborhood for 20 years, said she was
horrifie
d when she saw the house surrounded in black smoke Sunday morning.

"Nobody could get in there," she said.

Holding a picture of
the three siblings on her front steps, she said she remembered how they were always polite and energetic.

"They were very friendly and always spoke," she said. "You can't explain tragedy, you know what I mean?"

Tiny photo of fat, White skank and orange niglets

KENSINGTON-June 12, 2005 --Investigators continue their search for the spark that turned a Kensington rowhome into an inferno that killed 5 children Sunday.

They were all 5 years old or younger.

The search for the cause of the flames continues in the burned-out home in Philadelphia's Kensington section.

The house where this fire occurred Sunday morning has been boarded up. On the front steps dozens of teddy bears and candles are being placed as a memorial. The fire that ran through this building left five chil

dren dead.

Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers: "A very sad day again here in Philadelphia."

The fire bro
ke out shortly before 8:00 and was under control in nine minutes, but it cost five children their lives. Three sisters - Summer, Samantha and Sabrina - along with visiting cousins, Amber and baby Reginald all died in the fast-moving fire. The mother of three sisters, Shannon Bowers, is hospitalized with burns on more than 65% of her body. The dad, Lester Cooke, was treated and released.

Denise Flynn/Philadelphia Police: "We pulled up with Engine 25. Flames were shooting out the front door, the downstairs. The mother screaming my orange bastard babies are inside, my babies are inside!

Irene Weal/neighbor: "I saw the flames come out the front door and stuff. Him and her jumping out the windows. But I didn't see no children. They were in the back room. All of them."

At this point investigators from east detectives and from the fire marshal s
off
ice are continuing their investigation. They say the fire does not appear to be suspicious, but they haven't pinpointed a cause.

Joshua Foster

June, 14, 2005 --Tuesday morning, a sixth child was killed by a fire in Philadelphia this week.

The grief was overwhelming for the victim's family members. Those who loved 7-year-old Joshua Foster describe him as a youngster who was "all boy" but wanted to be a preacher when he grew up. Sandra Foster is Joshua's grandmother.

Sandra Foster/victim's grandmother: "He's a wonderful kid. He was the best kid I ever known."

The call came in right around 6:

00 this morning. Investigators say the blaze started in or near Joshua's bedroom. Those who were in the apartment at the time say Joshua's
mother was trying to douse the fire with water in order to get to her son.

Among those who saw the terrifying scene was Joshua's only sibling, 9-year-old Shaquilla Foster.

Shaquilla Foster/victim's sister: "The fire got bigger and bigger and that's when we started telling people that we gotta get out."

The Foster's say they are a church-going family and it will be their religious beliefs that gets them through this. But that doesn't mean their faith has not been rattled.

Jerome Foster/victim's grandfather: "Why did the Lord take him? Why did he take him from me?"

Joshua's mother is hospitalized. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.

Sunday morning, five children, all under the age of five, died in a house fire in the Kensington section of the city.
