Bobby Bolton. Los Angeles Police Department

Bobby Bolton, 21, was arrested at around 11 p.m. on Thursday on suspicion of residential burglary, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

He is accused of being part of a group of thieves who have entered the backyards of victims and forced their way into homes since January, taking off with valuable property like jewelry, watches, purses and money.

Police are still searching for the other suspects involved in the group, one of whom is said to wait in a second vehicle acting as a lookout while two enter the targeted homes.

"The presence of surveillance video was instrumental in placing these crimes together and helped to solidify the criminal case filings for Bolton," LAPD said.

They released his photo because they believe he's connected to multiple other burglaries.

Bolton is currently being held on $1 million bail.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact detectives at (818) 832-0942.

Three suspects linked to a series of burglaries in West Los Angeles were recently apprehended, thanks to a hidden tracking device that revealed their operation.
Vernon Harvey, 22, Qwaee Wright, 18, and Bobby Bolton, 20, were arrested and are facing burglary charges, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
These suspects are believed to be part of a burglary crew responsible for approximately 20 residential burglaries across West Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. According to the LAPD, last week, September 15, three burglaries occurred in Studio City. The masked thieves were caught on surveillance footage breaking into homes, ransacking the residences, and making off with jewelry, designer handbags, and other valuable items. The suspects then drove away in a black 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV, which had a stolen license plate.
The arrest came when the suspects took a designer handbag containing a concealed tracking device during one of the break-ins. The device enabled the victim to track their property to the community of Mar Vista. Upon arrival at the location, the owner witnessed a burglary in progress and immediately called the police. As the suspects fled the scene, officers were guided by the device to an apartment complex in Inglewood. Surveillance footage would later show the suspects attempting to pry open a stolen safe from the Mar Vista burglary.
The police quickly set up a perimeter around the apartment complex and ultimately arrested the suspects. The stolen property was recovered, along with three firearms that had been taken during previous thefts. The district attorney has since filed burglary charges against all three suspects, as mentioned by the LAPD.
It is a widely held belief that incidents, similar to this one, often point to the prevalence of organized burglary crews operating in specific areas. West Los Angeles has been experiencing repeated break-ins, and this apprehension will likely serve as a significant blow to the suspects' operation. The use of technological devices, such as hidden tracking devices, can potentially be effective striking a blow against crime and assisting in locating stolen property.

As the investigation continues, the LAPD is urging anyone with additional information to call North Hollywood burglary detectives Timothy Kirkpatrick and Gus Ramirez at 818-754-8377. Anonymous tips can be submitted to the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by visiting their website at lacrimestoppers.org.
