Dwayne Haskins posts cryptic message after wife’s arrest

Dwayne Haskins quoted Drake in his first social media post since news of his wife’s arrest.
The Steelers quarterback made headlines Thursday morning after multiple reports claimed Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins is facing a domestic battery charge for allegedly assaulting Haskins and knocking out his tooth in a Las Vegas hotel room earlier this month.
The 24-year-old seemingly alluded to the situation in a post on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, in which he referenced Drake’s 2016 song “9” from his “Views” album.
“If they don’t have a story these days, they’ll make one. Life always on, man, I never get a break from it,” Haskins shared in white text over a black background as “9” played.
Haskins, who was selected with the 15th overall pick by the Washington Football Team in the 2019 NFL Draft, has yet to directly address his wife’s arrest — and neither has she. Gondrezick is due in court Aug. 3.

The alleged altercation, in which multiple reports say Gondrezick allegedly punched Haskins in the mouth, took place on July 3 at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas — where the couple had apparently planned to renew their vows after tying the knot in March.
Haskins’ injuries were “substantial in nature,” according to a police report. The Pittsburgh quarterback had a split upper lip and a missing tooth, and suffered other mouth injuries that “would most certainly require dental work to repair his teeth,” according to the report.
The couple reportedly got into an argument about their plans for the evening as Haskins as his friends were said to have gone to a nightclub without waiting for his wife and her friends.
Haskins was treated for facial injuries at a local hospital. According to reports, upon searching the hotel room, police found a piece of tooth and blood.
The Steelers said Thursday the team is aware of the situation, “but will have no comment.”
Gondrezick, a medical aesthetician and certified cosmetic specialist, last posted on social media just hours before news of the alleged altercation went public.
In the days leading up to news of Gondrezick’s arrest, the couple had been sharing identical memes and quotes, as well as exchanging supportive posts and comments. Haskins and his wife even gushed over their engagement on social media this week.
