An ex-con with 25 prior arrests dragged a dead woman out of his Brooklyn apartment and then heartlessly ditched her lifeless body in the hallway, cops and law enforcement sources said.


Reginald Newkirk, 51, was charged Wednesday with concealment of a human corpse – a day after the unidentified woman, believed to be in her 20s, was discovered in the hallway of the building on Rockaway Parkway near Rutland Road in East Flatbush, the NYPD said.


Newkirk later told authorities she died of a drug overdose, sources told The Post.


The investigation began around 7 a.m. Tuesday when firefighters responded to a call for a gas odor in the building, sources said.


When they approached the second-floor landing, they discovered the body face-up on the floor, according to the sources.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed Newkirk dragging the body out of an apartment and dumping her near the stairs, sources said.


The relationship between Newkirk and the woman was unknown on Wednesday.


The woman had no visible signs of trauma and no criminality was suspected in her death Wednesday, but the investigation is ongoing, cops said.









Newkirk has 25 unsealed arrests on his rap sheet – with many of his charges related to drugs, but he’s also been nabbed for criminal mischief, petit larceny and robbery, authorities said.


He spent more than a year in state prison on a 2015 second-degree assault conviction, state corrections records show.




Newkirk also served about eight months in lock-up on a 2021 weapons possession conviction, according to the records.
Once released, he was placed on parole, which expired about a year ago.
