Willie McGinest, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon in connection to a Dec. 9 incident at a West Hollywood nightclub, according to multiple reports.
McGinest, currently a studio analyst for NFL Network, reportedly turned himself in and was booked Monday morning after providing a statement to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
In a 2:34 video clip obtained by TMZ, a man identified as McGinest approaches a man sitting at a table at Delilah in West Hollywood. The ex-NFLer leans in to speak with the man before McGinest punches him. Several men with McGinest join in on the beating, in which he appeared to pick up a bottle and hit the alleged victim in the head with it.
The 51-year-old posted his $30,000 bail, per multiple reports, and he is due in court on Wednesday, according to NBC News.
No further details were immediately available.

“We are aware of the incident and the video, which is disturbing. Willie McGinest will not appear on NFL Network while we review the matter,” an NFL Network spokesperson told The Post.
McGinest had a 15-year NFL career playing defensive end and linebacker after he was selected No. 4 overall in the 2004 draft by New England out of USC.
The two-time Pro Bowler played for the Patriots from 1994-04 and the Browns from 2006-08. He compiled 86 sacks, 581 solo tackles and 16 forced fumbles in his regular-season career.

In August, former Patriots defensive back Ty Law campaigned for McGinest, a 2022 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist and the NFL’s postseason sack record holder with 16, to be enshrined.
“What about Willie McGinest?” Law asked The Athletic. “I think he’s still got the all-time record for sacks in the playoffs because that’s when the s–t counts. It’s an amazing accomplishment. It’s about damn time.”
