A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and the Seahawks corner Quinton Dunbar for armed robbery, according to police.

The two men are facing four charges of armed robbery with a firearm and Baker is also being charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm for an incident that happened on May 13, according to The Miramar Police department in Florida.

“We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with DeAndre,” the Giants said in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.”

Police were called to party in Miramir early Thursday morning and witnesses identified Baker having a gun in his hand and pointing it at another member of the party while directing two other people to take valuables from attendees, according to the arrest warrant and affidavit. Dunbar is accused of assisting in collecting those valuables, which included an $18,000 Rolex, a $25,000 Hublot watch.

The document also claims Baker, 22, directed a third person in a red mask to shoot someone who just walked into the party, but no shots were fired. Dunbar, 22, was believed to be unarmed. Witnesses said the three individuals left in separate vehicles, giving impression there alleged actions were planned because they were prepositioned to expedite them leaving.

One witness told police they saw Baker and Dunbar at a different party a few days earlier in Miami where the pair lost about $70,000 dollars. They lost the money in card games and other forms of gambling, according to TMZ.

MIRAMAR, Fla. – On Thursday morning, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar spoke to reporters during a virtual news conference.

“I just hope to repay them with the way I carry myself as a person,” Dunbar said.

Hours later, detectives were labeling him and New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker as fugitives. The two NFL players are facing charges in an alleged $71,100 robbery during a party that involved gambling in Broward County.

The Seahawks’ released a statement: “We are aware of the situation involving Quinton Dunbar and are still gathering information. We will defer all further comments to league investigators and local authorities.”

DeAndre Baker’s bail amount may mean case is unraveling
By Paul Schwartz

The $200,000 bail set Sunday for DeAndre Baker sounds like an onerous amount, but it was not, given that the Giants cornerback signed a four-year contract worth $10.5 million and last year received a signing bonus of $5.67 million.

Broward County Judge Michael Davis surely knew this, and was fully cognizant Baker would easily make bail and get released, rather than remain jailed.

This is exactly what happened.

This could be an indication that despite the serious charges against Baker — four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault — the case might be unraveling, with witnesses recanting on their initial statements, a local defense attorney said.

“From what has been presented to the public from the arraignment it seems that this case may not be as strong as the prosecution has alleged,’’ David Touger, a New York-based criminal defense attorney, told The Post. “The public must remember all is not necessarily as it seems and people who had [Baker’s] career done and over might have to eat a little crow. This is America, and he is innocent until proven guilty.’’

What Touger described as “a nominal amount’’ for Baker’s bail leads to educated speculation.

“There has to be some weaknesses in this case,’’ Touger said. “The prosecution does not seem to have gone at Baker or his co-defendant very hard. If they had a strong case one could assume that they would have really fought hard for remand and no bail.’’

Baker has many legal, Giants and NFL entanglements to navigate. Even if he is cleared of all criminal charges, he is subject to the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy and could face a suspension.
