Man Hit Victim In Face, Fled With Cash

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a woman at a gas station.

An arrest warrant was issued for Willie Robertson, 39. The robbery happened May 4 just before 11:30
.m. at 1425 South Claiborne Ave.

According to investigators, a 20-year-old Gretna woman stopped the local service station to make a purchase. As she was walking back to her car, she was approached by

an who implied he had handgun and demanded money. When the woman refused, the suspect allegedly struck her in
the face. The woman then turned over cash to the man and he fled on foot.

A follow-up investigation by 6th District Detective Enchante Franklin positively identified Robertson as the person responsible.

Crimestoppers, at (504) 822-1111, is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to Robertson's arrest and indictment. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court.
