With his victim's mother asleep in another room, Dock Goodwin stole into a Chicago home and, brandishing a knife, pounced on a 14-year-old girl and raped her, Cook County prosecutors said Thursday.

Then, as the girl screamed out to her mother, Goodwin fled through a back door, Cook County assistant state's attorney Julie Egan said Thursday in a bond hearing for Goodwin, who is charged with aggravated cr
minal sexual assault and home invasion in the Oct. 20, 2001, attack. Judge Neil Linehan ordered Goodwin held without bond.

It was Goodwin's second appearance in Cook County Criminal Court in as m
any weeks. Last week Goodwin, 29, was charged in a separate home-invasion rape fro
m September 2001. Prosecutors say they have DNA evidence linking Goodwin to both sexual assaults. And prosecutors say Goodwin's crime spree continued into December 2001, when he allegedly stabbed a 9-year-old girl and her mother's boyfriend in the 4500 block of South Federal. He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, among other offenses, in that case.

In the most recently charged case, Goodwin sneaked into a home in the 5700 block of South Throop, prosecutors said. While raping his victim, Goodwin allegedly placed a pillow over the girl's face. She was a neighbor of Goodwin's, court records say.

In the September 2001 attack, Goodwin allegedly attacked a sleeping 33-year-old woman i
n her home in the 8100 block of South Shore Drive. In that case, Goodwin is accused of telling the woman that he'd been watching her and that he knew she had a child.

A Chicago man already accused of trying to kill a 9-year-old girl and her mother's boyfriend was charged this week in a separate home invasion rape case.

Dock Goodwin, 29, was ordered held on $200,000 bond in the most recent case in Cook County Criminal Court on Friday. He is charged with home invasion, aggravated criminal sexual assault and attempted criminal sexual assault for the Sept. 22, 2001, attack.

Goodwin allegedly crawled in through a window of a home in the 8100 block of South Shore Drive ab
out 7 a.m., Cook County assistant state's attorney Nick Kondelis told Judge Neil Linehan. The noise apparently awakened the 33-year-old victim, who began screaming.

The man then allegedly
told the woman: "Be quiet. I know you have a kid. I've been watching you." Goodwin then said he had a gun, before raping her, prosecutors said.

Goodwin was arrested tw
o months later in a double stabbing in Chicago. Prosecutors say Goodwin repeatedly stabbed a 9-year-old girl and her mother's boyfriend Dec. 29 at an address in the 4500 block of South Federal. Goodwin awaits trial in that case.

The victim in the rape has identified Goodwin in a lineup, and his DNA has been matched to the crime scene, prosecutors said.
