Man urinated in public in Morriston A&E, then performed a sex act on himself
A man who was caught urinating in Morriston Hospital’s A&E department was arrested after staff later caught him performing a sex act on himself.
Ibrahim Ali Ibrahim was in the minor injuries unit of the department in the early hours of January 7, with other members of the public in the waiting area.
Swansea Magistrates’ Court was told the 26-year-old had got up from his chair and walked into the corner of the room where he began to urinate.
Prosecuting, Hannah George said: “Members of staff asked him to stop and explained it was not a toilet, but the defendant stated he did not speak English and he subsequently returned to his seat.
A short time later at a time when there were no members of the public present in the foyer the defendant again got up from the chair and has taken his penis out of his trousers a second time.
She said Ibrahim then began to perform a sex act on himself, prompting staff to call security, after which police were asked to attend.
“At the time police arrived, the defendant still had his penis out,” she added.
Ibrahim, of no fixed address, was taken to Swansea Central Police station, where he told officers he could not remember the incident because he was drunk.
He also denied earlier saying he could not speak English, claiming he was in fact able to speak a number of languages.
“He did make a full and frank admission and understood his actions would cause shock.”
Ibrahim pleaded guilty to an act of outraging public decency, as well as failing to surrender to bail.
