According to investigators, two men, one of them armed with a handgun, entered the store, and
as one man held an employee at gunpoint, the other jumped over the counter and removed nearly all of the jewelry from the display case.
The men fled in a vehicle. A witness was able to copy the license plate number, and police traced it to a home in the 11000 block of Curran Boulevard.
Detectives went to the home, and a short while later, Pennington and Bardwell drove up in separate vehicles and were detained for questioning. They were arrested a short time later and positively identified as the robbers, police said.
Both are jailed at Central Lock Up.
