Police Say Girl Was Innocent Bystander During Violent Argument

ty police made an arrest Friday morning in the death of a 13-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a stray bullet.
Police arrested Patrick Bruner, 22, on a murder complaint in connection
r
with the death of Liliana Miramontes. The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Thursday in southwest Oklahoma City
According to a police report, an argument involving two men
broke out near the Will Rogers Courts apartment complex located at Southwest 15th and Pettee streets. The argument eventually escalated, and shots were fired.
Lt. Daimon Alexander said Miramontes was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time when she was hit. She was rushed to an area h ospital, where she later died.
Witnesses gave police a description of the Bruner's car, which was spotted a few minutes later. One officer was involved in a minor accident during the chase when he drove his patrol car into a tree.
Police eventually caught up to the car near the intersection of Northwest 21st an
d Barnes streets. Officers then followed several people on a foot chase before arresting Bruner in the bathroom of a home where he was hiding.
Police said Friday afternoon that they are still

rching for a second man wanted in connection with the shooting death.
