Iowa Defensive Back Charged With Assault

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A University of Iowa football player was arrested Wednesday on an assault charge.
Police said defensive back Antwan Allen, 22, knocked a man unconscious in downtown Iowa City last November. He was arrested for assault causing injury and later released from jail.
Coach Kirk Ferentz said he disciplined Allen for his role in the altercation but will seek further discipline if Allen is found guilty.
