NFL vet Nigel Bradham busted in Florida with pounds of pot, guns in Corvette

NFL veteran linebacker and Super Bowl champion Nigel Bradham was busted on drug and weapons charges in Florida, where cops found more than 3 pounds of marijuana and guns in his sports car.
The 32-year-old Bradham, who played one game for the Denver Broncos last season, was pulled over by the Florida Highway Patrol in his 2021 Chevy Corvette early Saturday in Leon County when its tags came back “not assigned,” the Tallahassee Democrat reported.
A trooper then “smelled the strong odor of marijuana” emanating from the vehicle, prompting a search of Bradham’s ride that led to the discovery of two handguns, 3.4 pounds of pot and 10 small bags believed to be used for distribution of the drug, according to FHP Master Cpl. Patricia Jefferson-Shaw.
One of the weapons had been reported stolen out of Missouri, Shaw wrote in a report.
Bradham had told officers he didn’t have his medical marijuana card on him and his name did not show up in the state’s registry, TMZ reported.

Two “large bags” of marijuana were recovered from the trunk of the Corvette, while 10 small plastic bags packed with pot were found in a satchel in the car that also had a pistol in it, according to TMZ.
The second handgun, a Glock previously reported stolen in Missouri, was found in Bradham’s glovebox, according to the report.
Bradham, who won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018, was charged with three felonies: possessing marijuana with intent to sell, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of marijuana over 20 grams.

The former Florida State linebacker posted $1,000 bond Sunday before being released from the Leon County Detention Center, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.
Bradham, a nine-year NFL vet and a current free agent, told a judge Sunday he intended to hire an attorney, but court records didn’t yet list one assigned to the case, according to WCTV.
The weekend arrest marks the latest legal woes for Bradham. He was busted in 2016 on a misdemeanor concealed weapons charge when a loaded handgun was found in his backpack at Miami International Airport, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.

Officials at the time said “it was clear” Bradham had no criminal intent with the firearm spotted by TSA workers at an X-ray machine, according to TMZ.
Months earlier, he was arrested for aggravated assault by Miami police for allegedly punching an employee at a hotel. The case was closed after Bradham, who was playing for the Eagles at the time, entered a deferred prosecution program.
