Woman ''extremely critical'' after man sets her on fire

BY HERALD STAFF

Dorothy Lundy, who was doused with gasoline and set on fire by an intruder Monday night, was in extremely critical condition Tuesday morning with burns over 60 percent of her body.

Her 11-year-old son, who was watching TV when the man burst into their house, received second-degree burns to his hands when he tried to save his mother.

Miami Police were looking for Thomas Mobley, 47, believed to be a former boyfriend of Lundy&#3
;s.

Police also were looking for Mobley in connection with two other arson incidents in the area, Detective William Moreno, a Miami police spokesman said.

Mobley has a long criminal history, p
oli
e said.

Police said Lundy and her son were inside their home at 1352 NW 41st St. at 9:30 p.m. when
the man came in through the back door, carrying a bleach bottle filled with gasoline.

When she saw the man, Lundy ran out the front door, but he caught her on the porch and doused her with vasoline, police said.

She then ran across to the street to a neighbor's house, but again the man caught her and set her on fire.

Her son ran after her and tried to put out the flames.

She was taken to the burn unit at Ryder Trauma Center.
