Police: Boyfriend Shoots and Kills Girlfriend, Then Himself
The Port Arthur Police Department is investigating what is being called a murder / suicide.
Around 10:30 Thursday night, police were called out to the 2700 block of 15th Street but they say they didnt know what was going to await them when they got there. When they arrived at the home, they found a 23-year-old woman and a man dead-- both had been shot.
Investigators say they believe the man, an estranged boyfriend, shot and killed the woman first before turning the gun on himself.
There are unconfirmed reports that other people, including children, were in the home at the time of the incident but all managed to escape unharmed.
Officers are still investigating what prom
pted this shooting. Hometown News crews were on the scene with investigators Thursd
ay night and will continue to work closely with them throughout the day. Watch Hometown News at 5, 6 and 10 on KBTV-4 for the very latest on this ongoing investigation.

This difficult situation turned deadly, according to investigators.
When officers arrived they noticed that a window had been broken and apparently someone had entered, Clark said.
Clark says that someone was 21-year-old Joey Colemanthe sometimes live-in boyfriend of 23-year-old Lillian Lewis.
What we have so far is that was his motive was to come in for the victim, Clark told us.
Police say two women and a young child were in the house at the time Coleman broke in with murder on his mind. Officials say one woman and the child escaped to a nearby neighbors home and called for help.
Meanwhile, officers say the gunman shot the victim multiple times before turning the weapon on himself. The shooters motive for the murder still rema
