North Babylon Home Invasion Victim Dies
"The 82-year-old victim of a home invasion died on Jan. 8 of the injuries he sustained during the burglary, Suffolk police say.
Charles Kollmar of 120 Scott Ave. in North Babylon caught an unknown man ransacking his bedroom on Dec. 30 and told police was punched in the face when he tried to confront the intruder. Kollmar was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, but on Jan. 8, he died of his injuries.
Suffolk police are still looking for Kollmar's attacker. He is described as a black male, 6' tall, 30-40 years old, wearing a black jacket and driving a black car."
