Boy Shot

OXFORD CIRCLE-July 10, 2005 ”” A 4-year-old Philadelphia boy was shot in the leg last night and police are trying to determine exactly how it happened.

The boy's stepfather told police the child was shot at the Max Myers Playground in Oxford Circle around 7:30pm Saturday.

The stepfather told police three African-American males drove up and opened fire. But police say there's no evidence at the park.

There could be evidence inside this a van at the stepfather's mother's house. Police say the boy's bloody clothes are inside.

For now, the investigation into how the boy got shot continues.

Couple Charged in Child's Shooting

OXFORD CIRCLE, July 11, 2005 ”” On Saturday, July 9, 2005 while inside of the residence in the 6000 block of Loretto Street, a four-year-old sustained a self inflicted gunshot wound to his leg while unsupervised.

The victim was taken to Frankford Hospital and later transferred to Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania, where he is listed in stable condition.

It was initially stated that the victim was shot while inside of the Max Maier recreation center ( 6600 Magee St). The defendants listed below were arrested and charged:

Quinton Rollins 18 yr. old, 6000 block Loretto charged with Endangering the
welfare of a child, Violations of the Uniform Firearm Act, and False reports to police and related charges.

Lovetta Rollins 35 yr old, 6000 block of Loretto charged with Endangering the welfare of a niglet and obstruction of justice.
