Two People Shot To Death In Chesapeake, Police Identify Suspect

Police have identified a suspected wanted in connection with a double homicide Monday afternoon in Chesapeake.

Tuesday, officials said they were looking for Gregory Hatchett. Warrants were issued charging Hatchet with two counts of murde
and two counts of use of firearm.

Authorities says the shooting occurred about 6:30pm at the Harvard Apartments off Yale Court.

According to officials, 44-year old Javier Contreras, i
nside his home talking with his teenage daughter, was hit by a stray bullet in the neck. His 13-year old daughter, who was visiting from Texas, wit
nessed the entire incident.

A second man, 26-year old Keyonte Caffee, who was wounded outside the home was taken to a nearby fire station and eventually to a hospital.

Both shooting victims were pronounced dead at Norfolk Sentara General Hospital.

Suspect in Fatal Chesapeake Shooting Arrested in Mississippi

The man suspected of killing two people in Chesapeake last Monday is in a Mississippi jail.

Police had been looking for Gregory Hatchett every since the shooting last Monday around 6:30pm.

Two men were killed when the gunfire erupted in the 2600 block of Yale Court in the Harvard Apartment.

Javier Contreras, 44, was hit by a stray bullet while in his home.

Police say the other victim, 26-year old Keyonte Caffee, was Hatchett's intended target.
