Police seek midday rape suspect in N.B.

NORTH BRUNSWICK --A 17-year-old township girl has alleged that a stranger sexually assaulted her at knifepoint in her home on May 28, according to police.

The man threatened to kill her, knocked her down, and raped her while brandishing the knife, after he barged into her North Brunswick Manor apartment at approximately 12:15 p.m., according to North Brunswick Township police.

The victim told authorities she saw her attacker playing basketball on a court located in the apartment complex earlier that day, but had never seen the as
ailant before that day, police said.

The stranger reportedly followed her home, knocked on the door to her residence, where she was home alone, and asked if her brother was home, according to Middles

ex County Assistant Prosecutor Andrea Carter.

"He had possession of a
basketball when arriving at the residence, and it was left at the scene," Carter said.

North Brunswick Township Police Detective Bill (provide a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury) and the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office continue to investigate the alleged incident.

Authorities continue to search for the alleged attacker, described as an African-American male in his late 20s, 6 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build, black hair and brown eyes.

The victim said he wore a navy blue baseball hat, navy blue velour "Sean John" or "Roca Wear" brand sweat suit, and black sneakers at the time of the alleged assault.
