Police announce suspect in fatal I-49 shooting

Police have a suspect in that rolling gun battle on I-49 that left one man dead.

They say 26-year-old Mondrell Wilson is wanted for first degree murder in the death of Shamichael Milton.

Milton died Friday afternoon after being shot in the head during the violence.

It happened around two Friday morning just past Kings Highway.

Milton and the other man in the car, Gavilin Fields, say they were driving south on I-49, when they say someone in a black truck started shooting at them.

They got off at the next exit

and the truck followed continuing to fire at them.

At last word Fields was in fair condition.

Suspect Identified In I-49 Shooting

A Shreveport man faces first degree murder charges connected to a deadly shooting Friday morning on Interstate 49.
Police are looking for 27-year-old Mondrell Wilson.
He's accused of firing the shots that killed 23-year-old Shamichael Milton.
Police say Milton and Calvin Fields were south on Interstate 49 when a car pulled up next to them and started shooting.
Both Milton and Fields were taken to LSU Hospital.
Milton died later in the day.
Police say Fields remains in serious condition.
