Shooting leaves one dead, two wounded
Gunfire erupted outside a Shreveport barbershop Tuesday afternoon, killing a man and seriously wounding two others. Police are unsure what caused the disagreement preceding the gunfire, spokesman Bill Goodin said.
The shooter ran, leaving the wounded men lying in the parking lot of Fat Boyz Barber Shop in the 500 block of West 70th Street about 3 p.m. Rusty colored blood stained the ground as testimony to the violence.
Kiran Pierson, 26, of Shreveport, died at LSU Hospital in Shreveport after being rushed there for treatment of multiple wounds from a handgun, including one in the chest, Goodin said.
Another man was wounded once in the leg. Another man was shot in the head. Neither wound wa
s considered life-threatening. Their names were
not immediately released.
Co-owner Charlie Washington, watching as police placed orange cones to mark shell casings, said six barbers work at his shop. "This barbershop has been here for a year and four months. And nothing like this has ever happened."
He was not at the shop during the shooting but told The Times' news partner KSLA News 12 nothing happened inside to prompt gunfire.
"Being a black-owned business, why would these guys bring it to this point? We are trying to do better things for this community," Washington said.
"But who's in control? We are not in control."

Memo to Charlie Washington: Niggers do not work or play well with others. Now, repeat that 1,000 times.
