Former USC football player sought in connection with Weds. credit union robbery

(Columbia) Feb. 23, 2005 - Authorities in Richland County are searching for a former University of South Carolina football player accused of committing an armed robbery Wednesday morning and holding a teller against her will at a Two Notch Road branch of the South Carolina Credit Union .

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is searching for Marco Terrell Hutchinson, 24, on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in the robbery after witnesses picked him out of a photo lineup.

Authorities say
at about 9:00am Wednesday Hutchinson walked in, showed a weapon, leaped over the counter and demanded money.

hey say Hutchinson held a teller at bay until she game him an undisclosed amount of money, then drove off in a red 1990 Pontiac Firebird with license plate 664-SHM. Authorities say they also identified Hutchinson by his vehicle's license plate. No one at the credit union was hurt.

According to the University of South Carolina media guide, Hutchinson played for the Gamecocks from 1997 through 2000. He is described as a black male standing six-feet tall and weighing 260 pounds.

Richland County investigators believe that Marco Terrell Hutchinson may be in the Charlotte or Columbia area. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the department at 803-576-3000.
