Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old girl in Sodus.

David Knight-Hollis, 19, of Sodus was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Alyssa K. Taft, a senior at Sodus High School. The two had previously dated, but were not in a relationship, said Wayne County District Attorney Christopher Bokelman.

Court documents allege that Knight-Hollis stabbed Taft in the chest and slit her throat around 3 p.m. Thursday.

Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said Taft, was killed at 6009 Boyd Road, which is Bay Village Mobile Home Community in Sodus. It was not clear if she died inside a residence. or elsewhere on the mobile home community's property.

David Knight-Hollis is being held without bail on a second degree murder charge in the death of Alyssa Taft.

Investigators said he dated Taft for several months but then they split. They add he wanted to rekindle the relationship but she did not and that is when deputies say he killed the Sodus High School senior.

One of her classmates said the suspect did not just have problems with Taft but also with other girls in school as well.:rolleyes::afro:

The student, who graduated with the suspect and wants to remain anonymous, said she had several bad experiences with him in school. She said he sexually harassed them in class and the abuse lasted several years.

“In class he would bend over the table and reach his hand under and try to touch me all the time,” the student said.

Investigators said they had no prior run-ins with Knight-Hollis before Taft’s death. They stress they will continue to follow any and all leads.

News10NBC asked Superintendent of Sodus Schools Nelson Kise if he was aware of any sexual harassment allegations or discipline against the suspect while he was in school.

“Because it's a student individual discipline matter I’m not able to comment on any specifics around that,” Kise said. “The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office I know is doing a full investigation which we are cooperating with 100 percent.”

Funeral services set for Sodus teen

Funeral services will be held later this week for the 17-year-old Sodus girl found murdered.

Calling hours for Alyssa Taft will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. and also from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home in Williamson. The funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. at the First United Presbyterian Church of Sodus.

Sodus High School is also planning a balloon release for later this week.:mad::confused: Taft was a senior at the high school.

Taft was found early Friday morning on Boyd Road at the home of her former boyfriend, 19-year-old David Knight-Hollis. Deputies say he stabbed Taft and cut her throat. He was charged with second degree murder and is due back in court on Wednesday.

Two separate GoFundMe accounts have been set up for Taft’s family – the Alyssa Kimberlee memorial fund and Alyssa Taft memorial.

Lyons, N.Y. (WHAM) - David Knight-Hollis pleaded guilty on Friday morning to murdering his ex-girlfriend in Sodus last November.
The 20-year-old man was in Wayne County Court for the hearing.

"When you killed her, you killed her family," said Wayne County Judge Rick Healy. "Emotionally and spiritually, they will suffer."

Alyssa Taft was 17 when Knight-Hollis said he lured her to a home on Boyd Road, with a promise to pay her money he owed her. Once she was there, he tried to get her to begin their relationship again. After she refused and tried to leave, Knight-Hollis admitted he stabbed her in the ribs and then slit her throat to keep her from screaming.

Taft's mother took the stand Friday morning to speak directly to Knight-Hollis at his sentencing.
"We will live with part of us missing until we take our last breaths," Sarah Taft said. "Our daughter spent her last moment on Earth scared and in pain. That will haunt us forever. You are a vicious, conniving animal that should never see a sunrise or a sunset as a free man in society ever again. I hope you spend your life looking over your shoulder in prison until the day the good Lord sends you to your damnation in Hell."

"Really the only thing he could do, at this point, was to accept responsibility for what the he did," said Andrew Correia, the Wayne County public defender. "Privately, he showed extensive remorse. And we were grateful to resolve the case, for him and his family and for the family of Ms. Taft."

The victim's family seen visibly heartbroken as Knight-Hollis was hauled off to prison.

"We spared the family a lot of turmoil," said Mike Calarco, an assistant district attorney. "Obviously, getting a waiver of the right to appeal spares them from having to relive this in years to come."
Camyron Natale is a childhood friend who believes Knight-Hollis deserves to stay in prison for a long time.

"I don't think he deserves to be out for what he did," she said. "He's hurt everybody. Everybody was friends with her; everybody loved Alyssa."
