Third man charged in Greenville County home invasion in which victim was slashed, robbed​


Dequaris Peterson, Syeed Jennings, Germaine Dunlap Jr. face multiple charges​



GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. —
A third man has been charged in a violent home invasion robbery in which the victim was cut with a large knife, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Dequaris Theo Peterson, 20, is charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.
Deputies previously arrested Syeed Zyshonne Jennings, 19, and Germaine Latif Dunlap Jr., 25, in connection with the Nov. 9 home invasion on Ridge Road.

Investigators said the men forced their way into the home and demanded cash from the victim, who was then slashed and cut on his legs with a large knife.
At least one gunshot was fired during the robbery, deputies said.


Jennings is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and first-degree burglary, deputies said.
Dunlap is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, first-degree burglary, criminal conspiracy and unlawful wearing of a mask, deputies said.
Peterson, Jennings and Dunlap are being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.
Deputies ask that anyone with information about the home invasion call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME (232-7463).

Greenville County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men in connection with a Nov. 9 home invasion on Ridge Road.

Syeed Zyshonne Jennings, 19, and Germaine Latif Dunlap Jr., 25, both of Greenville, were in custody at the Greenville County Detention Center on no bond Friday afternoon.

Jennings, Dunlap and at least one other suspect went to a residence in the 1300-block of Ridge Road to commit a robbery and forced entry into the residence, police said. They were armed with a bladed weapon and a firearm, they added.

The suspects demanded cash from the victim. During the incident, at least one gunshot was fired, police said. The victim was not hit, but did suffer wounds from the bladed weapon that required medical treatment.

Jennings is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and burglary 1st degree. Dunlap is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, burglar 1st degree, criminal conspiracy and unlawful wearing of a mask.

Deputies are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stopper of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
