Darwin police are appealing for witnesses to a sexual assault near Nightcliff's Beachfront Hotel.
A 22-year-old woman was allegedly attacked while waiting for a taxi.
The attack happened in the early hours of Friday morning.
Detective Constable Vicki Koum says the woman approached two men who were asking for a light.
"As she's turned around to leave they've grabbed her, and taken her away and have sexually assaulted her," she said.
The woman appar
ently sat and smoked for some time before hailing a minibus that took her home.
The attackers are described as being of Aboriginal descent, one with bushy hair, the other with his slicked back.
Both were said to be wearing black gloves.
Police say that there is no
indication the attack is linked to other sexual assaults around Darwin in recent weeks.
