A 21-year-old Lewisville man died Thursday after being shot during an argument with two other men on city streets, police said.
The victim, Darrell Wayne Burnett, was pronounced dead by gunshot wound at 8:10 p.m., minutes after he arrived at the Lewisville Medical Center emergency room. He had been driven by his two brothers, who were in the vehicle with him when he was shot, according to police.
The incident began earlier that evening, when Mr. Burnett, who is white, had a discrepancy with two black males somewhere on Edmonds Lane, police spokesman Richard Douglass said.

out, ending up in the 300 block of Ridgeway Circle, where they met up again with the two males," Douglass said. "One of the black males got out of his car, pulled out a handgun of unknown caliber

ett] of the other car." Police would not say why the men were arguing. Although the motive is unknown, police said they do not suspect gang violence in the incident.
Lewisville police said they have leads to possible suspects, but have not made an arrest.
