Arheel's Uncle request for NEW FORUM THREAD-POST MERGING WORK AREA - TESTING OUT HERE

Thank you for making this new category.
This thread worked out very well on a few threads that I worked on and allowed the related stray posts to be merged easily after moving each into this category.

You can view the Ashley Fricke twelve posts thread that I'd merged HERE IN NNNF
I think there were around 5 or 6 different but related threads, to be merged.

It did fix the 'older story buried deep in thread' problem, whatever is moved here is new, this category should always end up empty after merging is completed and thread is moved back to the right category. There was other problems that made it impossible to merge posts, but it's too much to explain how/why.
Now, it's a fast and simple process to move posts here, merge posts then move.

Well, GREAT!!! - (I'd forgotten about this project)

I still would need to practice merging and/or rearranging posts and threads
as I had never spent enough time figuring it out and practicing on it. :)

So...if you open the main category ---->

ZZZZ - work area for MERGING THREADS

You will see this OP thread and the 3 test posts named 1, 2, and 3.
Each post has an 'edit' box to tick.
Tick each of the 3 boxes, at bottom of screen, choose 'Merge posts' then click GO.
A drop down will open where you can choose which of the 3 posts (#1 in this case) to merge into to be the title of the newly merged thread.
Click the one slated to be the thread title, then click 'Merge' .
After the 3 are merged, then you tick the edit box of the completed Merge TITLE, choose 'Move Thread' back to the category it should be in, or, was in before moving here.
For learning purpose, move merged thread to TNB 'FOLLOW UP'

After moving the merged thread, then this working category will be empty, except for this thread
ZZZZ - work area for MERGING THREADS
.
Next time I find a group of separate posts or threads to be merged, we can do this again.
It is now too easy.

However, merged posts/threads cannot be easily UNDONE. There is a way, but it is somewhat complicated.

WOW, 581 Views ???
