BRANFORD, CT (WFSB) - Three people were arrested for kidnapping and torturing a young person in a wooded area in Branford.
One of those suspects, 22-year-old Avante Ryan, was set to face a judge in New Haven on Thursday.

Police said that on Sept. 1, the three suspects, which included Ryan and two 17-year-olds, lured the victim to a remote location where the juvenile was held against their will for about three hours.
During that time, police said the victim was physically assaulted, slashed, set on fire, pistol-whipped, and sexually assaulted. The victim sustained serious injuries from the incident.
Police were made aware of what happened after they received information about a video that captured a portion of it.
Officers said they were able to locate the suspects and take them into custody without incident.
They were hit with a slew of charges, including first-degree assault, cruelty to persons, first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, and risk of injury to a child.
They were held on a $1 million bond.
Police called the case an isolated incident.
