Dallas Police Charge Man With Baby's Homicide

DALLAS -- A Dallas, Texas, man faces capital murder charges in the death of a 2-month-old girl.
Police arrested and charged Marcus Hall, 34, on Monday after neighbors called 911 to report that the infant was not breathing.
Police said Hall is a boyfriend to Esmerelda Alvarado's mother and that he had been baby-sitting the infant and her older brother while their mother was visiting a sick relative in Oklahoma.
Officers reported that they found the dead baby at the Coronado apartments in Dallas after a witness contacted them.

"You could see a bruise," Bruce said. "If you saw the baby, you could see that it apparently had a handprint on the child's face."
The woman, who has a medical background, said it appeared the baby had been dead for about five hours.
Officials said the toddler was not harmed and is now with child protective services.
