Two women had their purses stolen in separate strong-arm robberies in Fairfield store parking lots Thursday night, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the parking lot of a Walmart Supercenter [I was just reading a post by Johnny99 where he mentioned a link about all of the crime in WalMart stores/parking lots]store at 300 Chadbourne Road around 11:35 p.m.

A 33-year-old Suisun City woman was walking to her car when a man waiting in a black, two-door sedan got out, pushed her to the ground and stole her purse, police said. The woman suffered minor injuries.

The suspect was described as an Asian man, possibly Filipino, around 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds.

He had a shaved head and wore dark clothing, and he was last seen fleeing east on Highway
12 in the sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi Galant.

Officers responded to a separate report of a robbery in the parking lot of a Safeway store at 2401 Waterman Blvd. around midnight, police said.

A 56-year-old Fairfield woman was walking toward the store entrance when a suspect exited the passenger side of a dark, newer-model sedan and grabbed her purse. The victim was pushed to the ground when she attempted to resist, and also suffered minor injuries.

The suspect got back into the sedan and fled onto Waterman Boulevard.

He was described as a black man around 20 years old[doesn't he qualify as being considered a "youth"?], 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He was wearing a red hat, a tan jacket and blue jeans.

Police are still investigating both robberies and have not determined if they are related.

There were actual
ly three robberies in this area. This story covers the other one, as well as the other two, above:

A trio of apparently unrelated robberies, one involving a gun, had Fairfield Police busy Thursday night.

The first incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. when a suspect pulled a gun on an employee at the Union 76 gas station in the 2300 block of North Texas Street.

After paying for his merchandise the suspect produced a chrome revolver from his sweatshirt pocket and demanded the money in the cash register, police said. The suspect then fled westbound on foot toward Alaska Avenue with an unspecified amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male, 17 to 19 years old, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 120 pounds, his hair fashioned in either braids or dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and a black dew rag, or head scarf, according to reports.
