Two children were restrained with duct tape and a teenager was pistol whipped when four men robbed a home Tuesday morning, police said.
Four Asian men entered the single-family home in the residential neighborhood about 10 a.m., said Lt. Dale Brophy of the West Valley City Police Department. Three children were inside. The men duct taped the mouths and hands of a 9- and 12-year-old and pistol-whipped a 16-year-old, he said.
The suspects stole televisions and VCRs before fleeing in two separate Honda Civics, one red and one black. The older child called 911.
One of the victims recognized a suspect from an "earlier confrontation," but only knew his first name, which may b
a nickname, Brophy said.
"We think they targeted this specific home. It wasn't just a random act," he said.
Police detained a suspect during a traffic stop shortly after the i
ncident, but later released him. An investigation is ongo
ing.
