Mohammed Boudjenane: Took his victims head for a bus ride...
A man, who killed his neighbour and carried the victim's head on a bus in a bag, has been jailed for his murder as well as the rape and false imprisonment of a woman he knew.
Mohammed Boudjenane, aged 46, from Kingsgate Road, NW6, was found guilty of imprisoning a woman and three counts of raping her at his home on 4 February this year. The victim, working as a housekeeper to send money back to her family in the Philippines, had originally met Boudjenane socially. They exchanged contact details when he said he knew people who would be able to find her additional work.
Despite making it clear that she wanted nothing other than friendship, the defendant lured her back to his flat, after meeting her in the street and grabbed her mobile phone as she received a call from a friend. He insisted if she wanted it back she'd have to come back to the flat.
Once they got to the address Boudjenane falsely accused the victim of having sex with the man upstairs, a man the victim had never met and then attacked her. Towards the end of her ordeal the victim made attempts to placate the defendant, even agreeing to marry him. He told her to promise not to tell anybody about what had happened and miraculously she was allowed to leave the flat.

The next day Boudjenane killed his neighbour, Lakhdar Ouyahia. He then attempted to dispose of the body by chopping off his victim's head and taking a bus journey to dump it in the nearby Regents Canal. He left the remainder of Lakhdar's body in a shopping cart at the rear of nearby shops where it was found in the early hours of the following morning.
Officers arrested Boudjenane on 7 February 2008 on suspicion of murder. He was subsequently charged on 12 May 2008 with rape and false imprisonment.
He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for false imprisonment; 15 years imprisonment for each count of rape and life imprisonment for murder, with a recommendation he serve a minimum of 22 years. All sentences are to run concurrently.
