GRESHAM ' Gresham police investigators are investigating two, unrelated stabbing incidents, including one involving an alleged rape, that occurred on Monday.

Police arrested 24-year-old Jorge Flores Escobar after he allegedly brutalized his girlfriend for two days inside their apartment on the 17800 block of SE Division St., said Officer Grant McCormick, a spokesman for the Gresham police department, on Tuesday morning.

ults started on Saturday and lasted until Monday when the woman escaped from the apartment and made her way to her mother's home in east Portland. Escobar was arrested about 5 p.m. on Monday without incident at the apartment.
Escobar is charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, assault, rape, possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance. Bail has been set at $1.5 million. He is now lodged at the Multnomah County Justice Center. Escobar will be arraigned on Tuesday.
