Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky lashed out at Israel during an interview with French television network TV5Monde on Friday, saying that he was “shocked” by Israel’s lack of support for the Ukrainian war effort.

“I didn’t understand what happened. I don’t understand why they can’t supply us with anti-aircraft missiles, Israel has provided us with nothing. Nothing. Zero.”

“I do not blame the leaders, I state the facts: there were discussions. You can see Russia’s influence on Israel. I understand that they need to protect their country, but according to my intelligence, they continue to export weapons to other countries,” the Ukrainian president said.

This is not the first time that Zelensky points an accusing finger at Israel

In a speech before the Hebrew University last June, Zelensky spoke with both students and faculty members: “Tell me how you can’t help the victims? You and millions of others in the world. It’s hard for me to be interviewed by journalists from Israel, I simply don’t know what to answer.”

"I [give] thanks to the citizens of Israel and to you for supporting Israel, I [give] thanks for hanging Ukrainian flags in the streets and for all the words of support, but we would also like to receive support from your government," he said.

In March, Zelensky said in an online speech to Knesset members that "in Israel, we know very well that Iron Dome, your missile interception system, is the best. We know that you know how to stand up and protect your interests and also help Ukraine protect the Jews of Ukraine.

"One can often ask why we cannot receive weapons from you, why Israel did not impose serious sanctions on Russia? Why not apply pressure? You have to give answers to these questions and then live with your response. The Ukrainians made a choice 80 years ago, we saved Jews and that is why we have members of Hasidei Olam among us," The Ukrainian president said.

Ukrainian ambassador lashes out at Liberman

Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Kornichuk also lashed out – at Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman following what he called his "neutrality" regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine during an interview with Newsru on Wednesday.

Following Liberman's interview about the war, in which he did not directly condemn Russian actions in Ukraine, Kornichuk said that "it is unthinkable that Liberman would not strongly condemn the attacking side."

"Ukraine was dragged by Russia into this bloody war and our citizens are paying a very heavy price every single day," the ambassador said in a statement on Wednesday. "I am shocked by Mr. Liberman's indifference toward the crimes that the Ukrainian people have experienced at the hands of the Russians."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he is “in shock” at Israel’s failure to give Kyiv anti-missile systems to help counter Russian attacks.
The president has been asking for the weapons since shortly after the war started in February. Zelenskyy mentioned Israel’s Iron Dome system, often used to intercept rockets fired by Palestinian fighters in Gaza.

“I don’t know what happened to Israel. I’m honestly, frankly – I am in shock because I don’t understand why they couldn’t give us air defences,” he said.
Zelenskyy’s comments were stronger than those he made in March when he chided Israel for its reluctance to send weapons. At the time, Israel was non-committal, saying it would help Ukraine as much as it could.
Zelenskyy made the latest remarks in an interview with French reporters on Wednesday and his office released a recording on Saturday.

‘Stating the facts’

Israel, which has condemned the Russian invasion, is wary of straining ties with Moscow, a powerbroker in neighbouring Syria where Israeli forces frequently launch attacks on what they say are pro-Iranian fighters.
In the same light, Israel sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine and expressed support for its people, but the government did not join international sanctions against Russia.
Russia in the past accused Israel of supporting “neo-Nazis” in Ukraine.
“I understand – they have a difficult situation, regarding the situation with Syria and Russia,” Zelenskyy said, adding he was not making accusations.
“I am stating the facts. My conversations with the Israeli leadership have done nothing to help Ukraine.”

In a phone call with Zelenskyy on September 1, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said he and his counterpart “talked about the fighting situation in Ukraine”, and he expressed his “condolences for the dead and injured in the war”.
Lapid said he has called for “a diplomatic solution to end the fighting” in Ukraine.

High-Explosive Drone Pierces Shell Of Chernobyl Nuclear Plant At Very Moment Trump Pushes Ukraine Toward Peace

On Friday just prior to high-level meetings among Western security officials and Ukrainian leadership commencing in Munich, including US Vice President J.D. Vance and Zelensky, there was a dangerous incident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine's Kyiv oblast.

Ukraine's President Zelensky accused Russia of launching a drone equipped with a high-explosive warhead at the historic, defunct power plant, site of the April 1986 nuclear disaster and meltdown. The drone reportedly hit the protective containment shell of the Chernobyl plant.

Zelensky's office released footage showing an impact to the giant concrete and steel shield protecting the remains of the nuclear reactor. BBC writes that "The shield is designed to prevent further radioactive material leaking out over the next century. It measures 275m (900ft) wide and 108m (354ft) tall and cost $1.6bn (£1.3bn) to construct."

And WaPo details further of the looming potential dangers:

In 2019, construction was completed on the New Safe Confinement — a $1.7 billion arch-shaped steel structure, which would contain the destroyed reactor. The site still contained some “200 tons of highly radioactive material,” according to the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, which helped finance the project.
Thus the situation is deeply alarming given the potential for a new radiation leak at the site which could impact the region, or even Europe. An IAEA team on the ground said it heard an explosion at around 01:50 local time coming from the New Safe Confinement (NSC) shelter. Photos showed flames at the top of the huge structure.

The UN agency is on high alert, but issued a statement saying the drone strike did not breach the plant’s inner containment shell. The IAEA also did not attribute blame, not identifying who sent the drone.

The Kremlin strongly rejected that it was behind the incident:

"There is no talk about strikes on nuclear infrastructure, nuclear energy facilities, any such claim isn’t true, our military doesn’t do that," Peskov told reporters in a call.

Russian state media has meanwhile been warning of efforts by bad actors to sabotage Trump's peace plan for Ukraine, after he held a 90-minute phone call with President Vladimir Putin this week.

Serious damage to the protective shield remains, which could present an ongoing serious safety issue at the site:

Simon Evans from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was head of the Chernobyl Shelter Fund, which oversaw the construction of the protective dome in the 2010s.

He described the apparent strike as "an incredibly reckless attack on a vulnerable nuclear facility".

The shield "was never built to withstand external drone attack", he told the BBC.
Given this, why would Russia at this very moment while Trump and Putin are trying to line up peace talks launch a high-explosive drone at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant?

Cui bono?...

Zelensky has asserted that Putin is not actually ready for or seeking legitimate negotiations, contradicting recent statements coming from the Trump White House.

On Friday, he claimed: "The only country in the world that attacks such sites, occupies nuclear power plants, and wages war without any regard for the consequences is today’s Russia."

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate has in a fresh statement said that while the drone damaged "the external integrity" of the New Safe Confinement "and equipment in the crane maintenance garage" - it remains that there are no observable radiation spikes. "Firefighting efforts and damage assessment are ongoing," it added.

Was this a desperate CHERNOBYL 2.0 ATTEMPT? Whodunnit?

Given that Chernobyl is a name that has captured popular imagination for decades since the apocalyptic historic disaster left the vicinity basically a radiation death zone, it could present the perfect false flag opportunity for anyone wishing to prolong and escalate the war.

‘Absolutely Not An Ambush’: Oval Office Brawl With Zelensky Was Not Pre-Planned, WH Officials Say

Women System March 01, 2025

Link: https://www.womensystems.com/2025/03/absolutely-not-ambush-oval-office-brawl.html/

President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance did not plan to tear into Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, senior White House officials told .

Their reactions to the Ukrainian president’s remarks were their genuine responses to Zelensky’s “antics and bad behavior,” a senior White House official said, noting that the incident was not pre-planned.

“Absolutely not an ambush or pre-planned,” another senior White House official shared. “We expected a great day, econ deal signing, and demonstration to the world that we are partners” with Ukraine “and leading a movement to peace.”

Zelensky came in with “the same nonsense” that the White House had “been dealing with” since Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent went to Kiev, the official added. That official described Zelensky’s behavior as “intransigence” and “a complete missed opportunity” for Ukraine.

After the skirmish, the United States officials and the Ukrainian officials went to separate rooms — and shortly after that, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio took a message to the Ukrainians: the meetings of the day were over, and the Ukrainians needed to depart the White House.

“Those around Zelensky seemed desperate to try to find a fix, but were told wasn’t gonna happen that day,” the senior White House official explained.

The situation unravelled after Vance backed up the president “in a very appropriate way” to a press question, the official said. When Zelensky heard the word “diplomacy,” the Ukrainian president “started a downward spiral of stupid.” That official noted that Vance and Trump are “100% in sync” and that Vance is a “smart fighter and a staunch defender of POTUS.”

After the meeting, Trump announced that he was cancelling the planned press conference with Zelensky, declaring the Ukrainian leader “not ready for Peace if America is involved.” Zelensky departed shortly after Trump asked him to leave, and has headed back overseas to Ukraine.

“We had a very meaningful meeting in the White House today,” Trump said in a statement on Friday afternoon. “Much was learned that could never be understood without conversation under such fire and pressure.”

“It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations,” Trump continued. “I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.”

“POTUS and VP were disrespected and right to defend our nation from Zelensky’s stupid attitude that is built on years of Biden simply throwing more and more American money at UKR with no endgame, no path for victory, and no path for peace,” the official argued. “POTUS wants to end a brutal terrible war. It is not at all clear to us what Zelensky wants.”

Zelensky, during an interview with Fox News on Friday evening, thanked Trump and the American people for helping to save his country amid its war against Russia. Asked if the United States and Ukraine’s relationship could be salvaged after the meeting, he responded: “Yes, of course, because relations is more than two presidents. The historical relations, strong relations between our people, and that’s why I always begin with to thank your people from our people. And this is the most important.”

“And of course, thankful to President and of course Congress, but first of all, to your people,” he continued. “Your people helped to save our people.”

“This is very, very important, and we are thankful and sorry for this,” said Zelensky. “I mean this, we wanted very much to have only strong relations, and I very confident, we will have it.”

A senior White House official told The Daily Wire that the President of the United States does indeed really want a deal with Ukraine. Trump wants to keep moving Ukraine and Russia “toward peace, to stop the killing, and bring stability to Europe,” the official said.
