$15,000 Offered For Info That Leads To Couple's Killer

HOUSTON -- A $15,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the killer or killers who followed an engaged couple home from a black-tie fundraiser and robbed and fatally shot them, KPRC Local 2 reported Friday.

Amandre Wilson, 40, and Joseph Liebetreu, 43, were shot and killed at about 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the doorway of Wilson's townhome in the 3900 block of Floyd Street near Leverkuhn Street.

Police said the killer kicked in the door to Wilson's townhome and shot the couple shortly after they ar

rived home from the Ambassadors' Club Christmas Bash, a black-tie fundraiser. The couple were st
ill dressed in a gown and tuxedo.

Investigators believe the killer followed the couple home from the fundraiser and ambushed them as they walked inside the townhome.

Friends told KPRC Local 2 that Wilson and Liebetreu were in love and looking forward to getting married next year.

"They were just so much in love. You could just see it in their faces. It was hard for them to keep their eyes off each other," the couple's friend Regina Gibbons told KPRC Local 2.

Wilson and Liebetreu were both employed by Exxon Mobil. Wilson previously held a city-appointed position to redevelop the 6th Ward.

Liebetreu, a veteran of
the
Gulf War, had one daughter from a previous marriage.

Exxon Mobil released a statement Thursday that said their heart-felt condolences
go out to the victims' family, friends and fellow co-workers.

Investigators suspect robbery was the motive because Liebetreu's wallet and Wilson's purse have not been found.

Police described the killer as a tall, black man in his early to mid-20s, but said the killer possibly had help from someone else.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and the filing of charges in this case. Schepps Dairy Inc. is also offering up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information should call the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division at (713) 308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
