but do get a glimpse of how all this net ra
nking stuff works.
I am having a minor epiphany....
Websites have a LOT of power to influence the masses.
No wonder newspaper and magazine sales are on the down esclalator. !
Perhaps we could take up a "CAUSE A MONTH"
and promote it by these ranking tricks.
Like "BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW"
And make and sell thru a merchandiser
buttons saying same as the cause,
with profits after expenses going to family left without t
he
missing member.
If other sites did same for their pet issues
there would be a groundswell of positive changes
in many areas,
Like TAXES !
IMO , that is my personal philosophy,
all that we see happening
is a message that we can decipher to use as a tool in
either personal issues or greater community issues.
That silly contest was a window we can use to make a better
us
e of the rankings stuff for good causes.
And the collective ingenuity of all the people at this site.
