3rd Suspect Identified

Macon Police identified a third suspect believed to be involved in a shootout at the Bateman and Wade grocery store one week ago.

Spokesperson Melanie Hofmann says officers are looking for 23-year old Sharquinta Mills.

As we first reported Thursday night, police made a second arrest in the case when a father turned his son over to them.

Sergeant Cornelius Pendleton believes 16-year old Freddie Fletcher, Jr., is the person seen jumping over the counter and beating the sales clerk.

Fletcher is now in the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center charged with armed robbery.

Lieutenant Carl Fletcher says 19-year old Johnny Lane also came to police Thursday after hearing they were
looking for him.

Fletcher says surveillance video from the store shows the clerk shooting the gunman who he believes is Lane. Fletcher says Lane does have a bullet wound in his left arm.

He adds Lane did not confess, but what he said in his statement was enough information for investigators to charge him with armed robbery.

3rd Suspect Turns Herself In

Macon police say they now have all three suspects in the Bateman and Wade grocery store shootout case.

Saturday afternoon, Detective Carl Fletcher says 23-year-old Sharquinta Mills turned herself in to police.

Fletcher says Mills saw her picture Friday night on a 13WMAZ newscast and decided to give up.

Mills was not inside the store at the time of the shooting, but Fletcher says she was involved. She is charged with armed robbery.

Right now police have two other suspects in jail, 19-year-old Johnny Lane and 16-year-old Freddie Fletcher Jr.
