Torrence Montell Maddox is in the El Paso County Jail on a $1,000,903 bond. Police say baby Manasseh's autopsy revealed he died of a massive injury to the side of his head.
Police say they learned that Maddox struck his son Friday night, which caused his death.
A spokesperson for Child Protective Services says the Maddox family has two older children. In 2001, police arrested the Maddox parents for possesion of marijuana. Police requested the children remain in CPS custody.
CPS says as of Sunday the two other children are in th
care of relatives.
CPS is investigating both parents and will have 30 days to complete their report.
