Police Arrest Women for Abusing Dogs
Animal Control officers arrested the woman they say neglected her two dogs and left them for dead. Domonique Williams turned herself in yesterday evening.
Police charged her with misdemeanor animal cruelty, saying her neglect killed one dog. Another dog was barely alive when officers found it.
Investigators are now looking for her ex-boyfriend, who they say actually owned the dogs. They want to question him about the abuse. They say Scott and Williams, now his ex-girlfriend, lived together in a home on East 33rd Street until a couple of weeks ago.
"She wanted to take them to the humane society and drop them of
f," said Scherherazade Robinson, a friend of Williams.
Robinson was at the home when Animal Control took the dogs. "They were his and when he left he left her with the dogs all the financial responsibilities fell on her, and she was surviving the best way she could," she said.
Robinson says her friend could barely feed herself and keep the lights on, let alone take care of two dogs.
Animal Control officers found the dogs in the backyard Monday evening. They were both tied to a tree and left in the heat with no food, no water and no shelter.
The severely underweight puppy pictured here is now in the hands of Animal Control. Officers are feeding the dog several small meals a day to help her regain some weight.
The Save-A-Life animal rescue organization plans to put the dog in foster care and try to find her a new home. If you would like to adopt the neglected puppy, you can contact Save-A-Life at 598.7729 or you can go to their website at

Officers say they let Domonique Williams off easy because she turned herself in and didn't own the dogs.
