Beach Rapist Sought: First Coast Crime Stoppers
ATLANTIC BEACH, FL -- "If you do it at night, that way it has time to soak to the root," says Nita Addison, who is much more comfortable revealing the secrets to her prized vegetable garden than discussing what happened in her neighborhood.
"My goodness, isn't that terrible," she asks after being told of the attack that happened in her Atlantic Beach subdivision in April. It w
s in the Royal Palms area, that Addison's called home for 30 years, that a neighbor was raped in front of her children.
"It never happened in the neighborhood before, remembers Addison. And
then I be thinking about me myself here, you know."
Atlantic Beach Police Chief David Thompson calls the
attacker a legitimate bad guy. Thompson says the woman was able to identify her attacker as Al Daniel Prince, 30. State Department of Corrections records show he's served time at the Baker County Work Camp for selling cocaine.
Detectives are especially frustrated that Prince has been spotted at several Jacksonville night clubs. "However typically we don't find our about it [the nightclub visits] for a couple of days. Obviously we need to know about it immediately, not several days later."
Nita Addison says she's not likely to meet up with prince puttering in her garden -- still she doesn't like the change he brings to a peaceful neighborhood s
he's loved for decades.
"You never heard about anything like that. You could walk as far as you wanted to go and didn't worry about it."
Anyone with information about
thi
s case can call our partner, First Coast Crimestoppers, at 866-845-TIPS. Calls will be kept anonymous. Tipsters are eligible for an award of as much as $1
,000.

I suspect the PoPo is using Nita for bait.
