Suspect Identified in Kidnapping, Attempted Murder

Henry County officials are looking for Virgil Samuels. They've charged him with attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault.

In Paris, Tennessee, the Henry County Sheriff says Samuels is wanted in connection with a kidnapping and car fire.

The fire sent the car's owner April Sykes,18, to a hospital with burns to 65 percent of her body.

Now, the Sherif


f says warrants have been filed against Virgil Samuels. The specific charges are criminal attempt to commit first degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping a
nd aggravated assault.

Sheriff David Bumpus says anyone who knows where Samuels might be should call them.

The sheriff also says there could be more arrests.

Nice find, Tyrone! I was sniffing up the wrong tree yesterday trying to get more facts on this case by following up on this girl's boyfriend, identified as Michael McMinn in this article from the Southern Standard.

In this story, the boyfriend McMinn ALSO reported being locked in the same trunk two hours earlier!!!

Crime scene investigators are hoping a burned up Chevy Malibu will help them solve a series of kidnappings and an attempted murder.

One of the victims is the car's owner, <b


>April Sykes[/b], 18. Sykes was inside the burning car, now she's in a Memphis hospital.

She'
s, 65 percent of her body was burnt. Approximately 40 percent of it was third degree. She had some injuries to her face, bruising, said David Archie of the Henry County Sheriff's Department.

Police say she was also stabbed more than once. Investigators believe April had been a hostage in her own car. Sheriff's deputies found the young woman and the Malibu on a road near Paris, Tennessee. A resident called 911.

She was in the car when it was on fire, and she was able to escape the fire. The man who owned the property his son discovered her in a field nearby.

It was the second 911 call of the day involving the Malibu. Earlier a dispatcher received a call from Macedonia Road in Southern Henry County. April's boyfriend told police an unidentified man took him hostage in April's car.

Then two hours later, that's when April and her car were found near Paris. Now police are hoping an analysis of evidence found in her car will lead them to a suspect.

It's a bizarre series of events, that brings speculation of whether or not all of the information is accurate.

Some question if both people were targets or is someone lying.[sic]

But what color is Michael McMinn? What is his and April Sykes' relationship with this Virgil Samuels? Could this be a bungled double-hit? Or a BCL love triangle gone bad?
