ORLANDO, Fla. -- A manhunt continued Tuesday in Orange County, Fla., after a sheriff's deputy was shot trying to break up a suspected drug deal, Local 6 News reported.

Deputy Robert White was driving by a gas station at 6:30 p.m. Monday and noticed suspicious activity between a man in a vehicle and man on a bicycle, said Jim Solomons, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

White called for backup and approached the scene, Solomons said.

When the second deputy, Adam Pierce, 25, arrived, the man on the bicycle took off, leading Pierce on a foot chase. The man ran back to the gas statio

n and White zapped him with a stun gun, but it did not work, Solomons said.

The man got up and shot Pierc
e twice, according to reports.

Police release a composite photo of the shooting suspect.

"I heard eight or nine shots," witness Jynyiah Tims said. "Then, I saw a figure run across."

White then shot the suspect, who fled on foot and got away, Solomons said.

"We believe he was hit," said Lt. Al Rollins, a sheriff's spokesman.

Deputies closed several streets Monday night but were not able to find the man.

Pierce was in stable condition at a local hospital Monday night, Rollins said.

The suspect in the vehicle also got away, Solomons said.

"Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of some of the violence and now, tonight, it is against one of my deputies," Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said. "We will not be leaving the area until we come up with a name or suspe
ct.&

Deputies stormed a home Monday night but did not make an arrest in the case.

Investigators released a composite sketch of the gunman early Tuesday. A $6,000 reward is being offered for
information leading to the man's capture.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The gunman who shot an Orange County deputy two times remained on the run Tuesday, but detectives had an idea of whom they were looking for and the sheriff's office released a composite sketch.

Investigators said the man shot Deputy First-Class Adam Pierce, 25,

at the Marathon gas station at 41st Street and Orange Blossom Trail just after 6:30 Mo
nday night. By Tuesday morning, the crime scene tape was down and the scene was cleared, but the lead investigator in the case said detectives were still fanned out all over the Holden Heights neighborhood.

Investigators also think they know who their suspect is and, early Tuesday morning, the sheriff's office released a composite sketch of the would-be cop killer, considered armed and extremely dangerous.

"There are a lot of people out here hurting. We got a deputy in bad shape because he was out here doing his job," said Jim Solomons, Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened at 41st and OBT around 6:30 Monday night, after a first deputy disrupted a possible drug deal in the parking lot of the gas station. A second deputy, Adam Pierce, arrived moments later. Just one suspect was running away. The first deputy stunned the suspect with a taser, but the bad guy came
back
sho
oting.

When it was over, Deputy Pierce had been hit twice and the gunman was on the run. For hours, hea
vily armed officers from nine different agencies participated in a door-to-door manhunt, executing at least three search warrants. But, by two in the morning, they dove undercover, releasing a sketch and begging the public for help.

"You have to consider anybody who would, in cold blood, shoot a police officer is a threat to the entire community. Absolutely looking for a very dangerous individual," said Chief Ken Cox, Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Doctors at Orlando Regional Medical Center were waiting to see if Deputy Pierce needed surgery from the two gunshot wounds he received. As of three o'clock Tuesday morning, the sheriff's office said Deputy Pierce was in serious but stable condition.

Earlier, Sheriff Kevin Beary said Pierce was responding to doctors and was squeezing everybody's hands.

The Pierce family is no stranger to
law enfo
rcement.
Deputy Pierce's brother and father also work with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

"I've talked to both Matt and dad and his mom.
Unfortunately, they understand the perils of law enforcement, living through it again," said Sheriff Beary.

Deputy Pierce was wearing a bullet proof vest at the time of the shooting. He's a deputy first class and has been working for the department for five years. He is not married and doesn't have any children.

Authorities are offering a $6,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Authorities late Tuesday sought an armed felon suspected of shooting an Orange County deputy sheriff a day earlier, while Sheriff Kevin Beary declared war on drug dealers in the Holden Heights area.

By late afternoon Tuesday, some neighbors welcomed the increased police presence, although a few criticized it.

The Sheriff's Office identified the man suspected of shooting Deputy First Class Adam Pierce on Monday evening as Jeffery Forbes, 22.

On Monday, Pierce and Deputy Robert White briefly succeeded in stopping Forbes when they shocked him with a Taser stun gun off South Orange Blossom Trail and 41st Street. However, sheriff's officials and witnesses said Forbes pulled the prongs off his body and began
r
r
shooting at the deputies with a handgun.

Jim Solomons,
a sheriff's spokesman, said Forbes "should be considered armed and extremely dangerous."

Monday evening, two bullets hit Pierce. One grazed his head. The second hit his shoulder and deflected into his chest. He was at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where Beary visited him Tuesday and described his condition as "very, very serious."

"I'm sick and tired of my deputies getting assaulted and, in this case, shot," an emotional Beary told reporters.

Pierce and his twin brother, Deputy Matt Pierce, work what Beary called "hot zones" -- some of the busiest crime areas in the county.

Since joining the agency as a reserve deputy in 1999, Pierce has received superior job reviews and has been cited as having an impressive future in law enforcement. He joined the agency full time in 2001.

In 2003, Adam Pierce was involved in a fatal confrontation with a man with a history
of
me
ntal illness who attacked Pierce and his partner, Deputy Christopher Dillon, with a potato rake in a home nearby. The
man disabled the deputies' Taser with a strike of the rake, and Dillon fired his pistol to protect them.

The Holden Heights area has been home to hundreds of arrests and several murders in recent years. Beary promised to step up patrols there by 2 p.m. Tuesday.

"You'd better get out of Orange County. You'd better go to Georgia or somewhere else," Beary said. "It [drug dealing] is not going to be tolerated."

This is the composite sketch of the nigger. I know I've seen his ugly ape face on the NNN forum recently. This topic needs to be merged but I don't have time to do it.
