A wanted man tried to make an escape, but a K-9 officer with the Knoxville Police Department wasn't ready to call off the chase.
Roger Bost is facing numerous charges, including destruction of evidence, fleeing and several traffic violations, according to authorities.
Officers said Bost ran from them during a traffic stop at the entrance of Cassell Ridge Apartments Wednesday. He was carrying a white substance in a bag.
He shimmied down a drainage pipe, and refused to come out. That's when Officer Jonathan Chatwell and his K-9 pa
rtner Elko stepped in.
Elko dove into the drain and pulled Bost out, allowing officers to arrest him. The K-9 was sent in because of Bost's violent history.
Bost was transported to UT Medical Center where he was treated for dog bites.
