Police Seek 2 Men In Attack On Tulane Employee
NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are trying to identify two men who sexually assaulted, robbed and beat a Tulane University employee inside her office Sunday.
The attack happened at 1:30 p.m. at the Uptown campus.
According to investigators, the 49-year-old victim was working when two gunmen forced their way into her office. After asking for directions, the men demanded money and sexually assaulted the woman, police said. When she tried to run, one of the men hit the woman across the head with his gun, cutting her face.
As the men left the building, a witness saw them and ran after them. The witness chased the men to the corner of Plum and Broadway streets, where the men dropped two bags of the victim's belongings and kept running
. The witness eventually lost sight of the men.
The victim was
taken to a nearby hospital, where she is listed in good condition.
The first suspect is described as black, 16 to 20 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 125 pounds with brown skin and a thin build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and white jeans.
The second suspect is described as black, 16 to 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 pounds with brown skin and a medium build. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Tulane released the following statement:
"Everyone at Tulane University is outraged by this crime, and our campus police department is working with the NOPD to apprehend those responsible. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim. The Tulane community has been informed of this incident and received information regarding crime-preventing meansures." We have decided to issue a long overdue warning tha
