Caught in the act: Cops: Woman flees rapist ' then ID's him from predator posting

A Dorchester woman who was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a registered sexual predator staggered naked and bleeding into a police station yesterday after leaping from her attacker's car and racing several blocks for help, cops said.

As police called for an ambulance, the woman spotted a board festooned with mugshots of Level 3 sex offenders and began to scream, pointing at a picture of Raymond V. Diamond, 43, who has been arrested for rape seven times and convicted of three sexua

l attacks.
``That's him!'' the woman, who is in her 30s, hollered through hysterical tear
s around 6:40 a.m., pounding her fists on the glass case holding the felons' pictures. ``That's the guy who raped me!''

Her identification led District B-3 cops to nab Diamond just minutes before he was allegedly set to rape a second victim he had picked up while posing as a gypsy cab driver, said Deputy Superintendent Margot Hill, the commander of the Boston Police Family Justice Division.

``These officers not only captured a suspect wanted for rape,'' Hill said, ``they also prevented another rape from happening.''

Diamond's staggering history of sex crimes - and the fact he was free and living in Dorchester with his brother, Daryl, also a Level 3 offender - outraged Mark Presti, who buried his sister and 12-year-old niece last July after they were murdered
in
their Woburn home, allegedly by a registered Level 3 offender. ``Guys like this are sick people, they are monsters, they need to be watched,'' Presti said,
insisting that Level 3 sex offenders, who are most likely to attack again, should be monitored with GPS tracking. ``The people need to be protected.''

Diamond was convicted in 1989 of a crime eerily similar to yesterday's alleged attack. In the older case, he kidnapped a Charlestown woman and raped her in his car during a 45-minute ordeal that ended in a high-speed chase with cops. It's unclear how much time he served for the crime or whether he would have been eligible for civil commitment as a sex predator under a law that took effect in 1999.

Another 'groid from the same area must've decided to follow in this 'groids trail.

The suspect, who was not identified last night, was ``celebrating his birthday'' by smoking pot and drinking beer when he allegedly grabbed the little girls by the neck as they played on a porch in their building and brought them to his apartment.

A Dorchester man was busted yesterday for allegedly attacking and sexually assaulting two 9-year-old neighbors he grabbed during a drug- and alcohol-induced fury, police sources said.

The suspect, who was not identified last night, was ``celebrating his birth
day'' by smoking pot and drinking beer when he allegedly grabbed the little girls by the neck as they played on a porch in their building and brought them to his apartment.

``He sat them on his lap and fondled them,'' a police source said.

The alleged attack was thwarted by District B-3 cops who were called to the address by a 911 caller. The address was not released because it is the scene of an alleged sex crime. The girls were transported to Boston Medical Center, and the suspect was being questioned last night.

The arrest took place in the same neighborhood where serial rapist Raymond Diamond, 43, was busted by plainclothes cops afte
r he
raped one woman and had been preparing to rape another, police said.

Diamond, who has been arrested for rape seven times and convicted in three of those attacks, was captured June 14 after his first victim managed to escape and run naked and bleeding into District B-3, where she recognized his mugshot on a wall of Lev
el 3 sex offenders in the police station's lobby, police said.

He was busted with a second woman in the car and was found to be wearing a condom.

On Tuesday, police officers in Roxbury's B-2 arrested another sexual predator, Tyrone Wilson, 29, after they caught him carrying a .45-caliber gun and marijuana in his pocket, according to a police report.

Wilson also was charged with failing to register as a sex offender, despite being listed as still being in jail, according to the report.
