Police release sketch of suspect in Sussex shooting

State police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man they say is suspected in a shooting March 2 east of Blades that injured a 27-year-old local man.

A state police report says the suspect, whose nickname is “Snap,"� is 5-feet, 8-inches to 6-feet tall, weighing approximately 135 to 150 pounds, with black short braided dreadlocks.

The suspect has a burn mark on his right cheek. He also has the word SNAP tattooed on the left side of his neck and partial gold teeth, police said.

He was last seen wearing a beanie style black knit cap with the “NY"� logo.

The victim was shot in the leg and hip when the suspect walked up to a group of six people standing around a bonfire, pulled out a handgun and began shooting at random, according to police.

The shooting occurred March 2 in the Mobile Gardens mobile home community. No other injuries were reported.
