Star Cisse admits assaulting wife

Liverpool footballer Djibril Cisse has been cautioned by police after assaulting his pregnant wife.

The 24-year-old striker, who married Jude, 30, in June 2005, was arrested at their home in Frodsham, Cheshire, on Thursday evening.

He was taken to a police station and questioned before accepting a caution for common assault.

Cisse and his wife, who is originally from Anglesey, announced in October they were expecting their first child.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said: "As a result of police inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 39 assault.

"The man was interviewed at a police station and cautioned in respect o


f the assault."

Last June, French international Cisse accepted a caution for hitting a 15-year-old
boy in London.

A Liverpool FC spokesman declined to comment.

Cisse beats pregnant wife

SOCCER star Djibril Cisse has been arrested for assaulting his eight months pregnant wife, it emerged yesterday.

The Ô�Å¡£14million Liverpool striker was quizzed by cops after hairdresser Jude, who he married last summer, made a 999 call.

Police raced to the couple's Ô�Å¡£2million baronial home in Frodsham, Cheshire, and arrested 24-year-old Cisse at the scene.

The French international, who stands 6ft and weighs 13st, later accepted a caution and police say they are now considering the matter closed.

Jude, 30, whose wedding ceremony was a lavish Ô�Å¡£100,000 affair at a castle in North Wales, is due to give birth to their first child next month.

Both she and the player, who earns around Ô�Å¡£60,000 a week, have children from previous relationships.

A Cheshire Police spokesman confirmed a man had been questioned over an allegation of common assault.

He added: A 24-year-old man was arrested, interviewed at a police station and cautioned.

The couple met in a Liverpool nightclub in 2004 shortly after Cisse's transfer to Anfield from French club Auxerre.

They wed at Bodelwyddan Castle in June and announced the pregnancy four months later.

They live in a Ô�Å¡£2million manor which gives them the right to style themselves Lord and Lady of Frodsham.

Last September he accepted a caution for smacking a teenager who poked fun at him.
