Man charged in dragging dog behind vehicle in Pell City

A man is charged in connection with allegedly dragging a dog behind his vehicle.
According to the Pell City Police Department, the incident happened February 11, 2010 in Pell City.
The suspect was noticed by a Pell City Animal Control Officer, and asked the suspect why the dog was chained to the vehicle.
The suspect said it was to teach the animal a lesson for chasing cars.
The animal control officer called the Pell City Police, and the suspect was arrested.
Joe Pryor, 74, is charged with Felony Cruelty to Animals.
Pryor bonded out of jail February 12, 2010.
Officials say Pryor was driving about 35 MPH while dragging the dog behind the vehicle.
The dog is alive, and being cared for at the Pell City Animal Shelter.
